How to Make Bacon Brussel Sprout Goat Cheese Pizza with a Spicy Honey Drizzle
Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet tray with aluminum foil and arrange the bacon on the sheet so they are not touching. When the oven is ready pop in your bacon for 15-20 minutes until crispy. Set it aside for later and bump up the heat to 450 degrees.
While your oven is preheating to cook the bacon, prep the dough. In a stand mixer combine the water, yeast and sugar. Let this bloom for about 10 minutes. After the yeast foams up add in the flour and and salt and mix with a dough hook on low until it comes together. If the dough is not pulling away from the bowl add 1 Tablespoon of flour at a time until it forms a ball on your hook. Put the dough to the side while you prep the toppings.
In a sauce pan melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the flour and cook for about 30 seconds. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream to create a sauce. Once the sauce comes together melt in the grated parmesan a little at a time until thick and creamy. Set aside to cool.
Next prep the other toppings by thinly slicing the brussel sprouts, mincing garlic and crumbling the bacon and goat cheese.
On a floured work surface roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled out dough to a baking sheet and spread on the parmesan cream sauce. Sprinkle on the brussel sprouts, bacon, garlic and goat cheese evenly. Pop the sheet into a oven preheated to 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness.
Spicy Honey Drizzle
While the pizza is cooking prep the spicy honey drizzle. In a microwave safe bowl melt the butter together with the red pepper flakes. When melted stir in the honey and garlic powder until smooth. Drizzle over the top of the pizza and enjoy!
