The Best Homemade Ranch!

Raise your hand if what you eat is merely a vessel to transfer ranch to your mouth. Yup me too! No shame in my game either! That’s why I worked tirelessly in my kitchen to bring you the best homemade ranch!

I am a self proclaimed ranch connoisseur, a ranch snob if you will. As in I won’t eat somewhere if they have bad ranch. Subpar ranch is an automatic black list for me. I mean how does a joint expect me to eat my pizza crust or fries without drowning them in ranch first?! Don’t try and push your marinara sauce along side my mozzarella sticks either because it’s ranch all the way. Always has and always will be ranch babe. What dressing do I want on my side salad? The only correct answer! RANCH!

Don’t get me started on the bottled stuff either because they just don’t make the cut! They are either too thin, weirdly sweet, have a vinegar after taste, or not nearly enough herbs. I mean can we even call what’s in those bottles ranch?! Also is it just me or is it weird that a dairy product could be in the unrefrigerated section of the grocery store? Is it even dairy!?

Can you tell I am very passionate about my ranch yet? If I haven’t convinced you yet from my passive aggressive (well mainly aggressive) ranch rant above that I know what I am talking about, then give this recipe a try to see for yourself. My homemade ranch recipe is nice and thick, super creamy and jam packed with herbs for perfect dipping! I dare to make the claim that it will get your kids to eat their veggies!

How to Make The Best Homemade Ranch

I am convinced that the secret to the best homemade ranch starts with homemade mayo. It is super simple to make and just takes 5 ingredients and about 10 minutes of your time. While homemade mayo is super simple the results are delicious! So please don’t skip this step and make the mayo yourself! I am going to contradict myself a little though and say, use what you have! If you already have a jar of mayo at home then use that! Use what you have first and then make it yourself!

I feel silly even writing this recipe because you just mix everything together in a bowl and wahla! You have The Best Homemade Ranch! Yup that’s it! It really is that simple!

You can enjoy the ranch right away but because some of the herbs are dried I suggest that you wait at least an hour before enjoying. This gives the herbs enough time to rehydrate and marinate in the jar to create that ranchy good magic we are looking for! We hate to hear it but good things come to those that wait! And this applies to homemade ranch. Just think about all of the things you will dip into it once its ready! It will make you drool but it will help pass the time.

Now this ranch recipe is extra thick! It is great for dipping but might be slightly too thick for tossing in a salad. If you are looking for a thinner texture just add a splash of milk until you reach the desired consistency.

Since there are no preservatives in this ranch it will last up to 2 weeks covered in your fridge. Honestly though, my jar has never made it this long! Happy ranching!
